Designer sitting on a pink couch reading a newspaper, surrounded by hand drawn artwork on the wall and a bright pink plant

In a world built for speed, I design for people who want to slow things down—just enough to notice the details. The kind that make something feel human, thoughtful, and worth paying attention to.

Pink Couch Creative is my one-woman design studio, rooted in storytelling, color, and a deep love for analog touches. I help small teams clarify ideas, shape their voice, and create design that feels warm, intentional, and a little unexpected—without losing clarity or purpose.

I’m drawn to the details that quietly do the heavy lifting: the texture of a printed piece you want to hold onto, an illustration that softens a message, a layout that invites people in instead of shouting at them.

My work lives at the intersection of analog and digital—where design feels tactile, grounded, and connected to real people. Whether it’s a workbook, a brand refresh, a chalkboard menu, or a piece of storytelling that brings a space to life, I care deeply about how things feel, not just how they look.

A little about me

Hi, I’m Kristin—designer, illustrator, and founder of Pink Couch Creative.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years working as a graphic designer, including a decade as the in-house creative partner for a human-centered design consultancy. My work has spanned branding, illustration, editorial design, workshops, and experience design—often supporting leadership teams, facilitators, and small organizations through complex ideas and meaningful change.

Along the way, I also became known for something less formal but just as important: creating environments where people feel welcome, supported, and energized. Sometimes that meant a beautifully designed workbook. Sometimes it meant signage, gifts, or making sure everyone was fed and comfortable. Design, to me, has always been about people first.

Today, I bring that same mindset to Pink Couch Creative—partnering with small teams who value collaboration, clarity, and design that feels human.

What guides my work

  • Design should make you feel something—even if it’s subtle.

  • Nostalgia has power when used with intention.

  • Joy belongs in serious work, too.

  • Thoughtful design outlasts fast trends.

  • Small details create big trust.

  • Kindness, curiosity, and empathy are never optional.

If you’re looking for a designer who listens closely, brings calm structure to creative chaos, and cares deeply about the work—we might be a good fit.
